Brian Lee Memorial Scholarship

Brian Lee passed away on August 12, 2021, after years of suffering from a traumatic brain injury. The injury happened in 2005 during the swim portion of a triathlon - his heart stopped in the water. The damage to his body was severe, but his determination and perseverance to recover were awe-inspiring. To keep his spirit and energy alive for years to come (long after I’m gone), I would like to start an endowment for Brian. This endowment will create an annual scholarship awarded to a wrestler attending the University of Saskatchewan. This is the college that Brian attended and was part of the Huskie wrestling team. The minimum to start the endowment is $30,000. This amount will award a wrestling student an annual scholarship of $1,000. Of course, the more we raise, the more the annual scholarship. There are two ways to donate: 

1)    Through this GoFundMe account.  100% of the funds will then be transferred to the University of Saskatchewan where the fund is established, and the Brian Lee memorial scholarships awarded.  

2)    Donate through the University of Saskatchewan (Brian Lee Memorial Award in Huskie Wrestling): https://donate.usask.ca/online/huskies.php?fund_code=302910BRIANLEE. Canadian citizens/residents/alumni will receive a charitable tax receipt.

If you are an American citizen, you can not use this donation as a tax deduction, since the funds are being utilized by a Canadian institution. Sorry.

Out of all of the many accomplishments that Brian achieved, his greatest of all was being an organ donor. His selfless act gave five people hope for a better life. Brian's bravery and love for life will not be forgotten.
