Brent White’s boys

Donation protected
We are saddened to share the news of the untimely passing of Brent White at the age of 51. Brent was a devoted dad to Dalton and Zach and partner to Tracey for 35 years. Together, they were involved in and gave back to the minor hockey and minor baseball associations with more hours than could ever be accounted for. If you had been fortunate enough to have had Brent in your life then you truly know what a kind, generous and compassionate man he was.

Brent served as the President of GCMHA for 5 years. During his tenure he was a voice for the kids and aimed high to make this minor hockey association the absolute best organization for young hockey players to be part of. An athlete all of his life, Brent knew first hand the importance that sports can play in a child’s life. He worked hard to make sure that their experiences on and off the ice would be as memorable as possible. Brent not only held an executive role with GCMHA, but he also coached both Dalton’s and Zach’s teams over the years. In his role as coach he was there for every single player on his team and supported them not only on the ice but off the ice as well. If they needed someone to talk to, a shoulder in trying times or a reference as they moved through the various stages in their lives, Brent was there. He truly gave everything he had. The same can be said about his involvement with SCMBA.

Many of you will remember that Brent was in a car accident in the summer of 2018. What many of you may not know is that Brent had been dealing with immense pain since the accident; pain that only continued to get worse. In June of 2020 Brent suffered a stroke. The challenges that Brent has dealt with, and the fact that so many people were not aware of all that he was going through is testament to the man that Brent was and how he never wanted to burden anyone with what he was going through.

Despite the pain he was in, he continued to lead GCMHA as his focus everyday was not just on his own boys, but on all the kids who shared his love of the game of hockey. He persevered through the pandemic and season tryouts but we are left with the painful reality that he just couldn’t do it anymore.

Now, it is time for the community to be there for Brent’s boys. His passing will leave an immense void in their lives that nobody can replace. We can, however, support them in helping to ensure they have the resources available to be taken care of through the months and years ahead.

On behalf of the family, a very sincere thank-you for keeping Tracey, Dalton and Zach in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with the inexplicable loss of the incredible human being who was Brent White.

Sincerely,

Lauren and Lynsey
