Brendan&Mike cycle for LIV Lanseria & BoucherHouse
Donation protected
What?
In November 2019, Michael and I (cousins) are travelling to South Africa with the Hobart Enterprises family, a team of approx. 10 cyclists, to participate in two major cycling events:
(1) Discovery 947 Ride Joburg (2nd largest timed cycling event in the world with between 20,000 & 30,000 cyclists)
(2) Coronation Double Century (202kms team endurance race).
We have been training all year, using events such as Ride Dingle (120kms), the Ring of Kerry (175kms), and the Ring of Beara (160kms) as milestones to test our progress. We are paying our own way for this trip and any funds we manage to raise here will be directed to the Hobart Enterprises Charity Trust.
Why?
We are cycling to raise much-needed funds for the Hobart Enterprises Charity Trust, which supports two very worthy charities based in South Africa - LIV Lanseria (Johannesburg) & Boucher House (Cape Town).
About the Charities:
LIV Lanseria is a community near Johannesburg that provides a multi-faceted programme for abandoned children. This care, more often than not, starts with a new-born being placed in LIV’s baby safe, at which point a LIV child’s journey starts, and only ends when they are ready to go out into the world.
Boucher House is a home in Cape Town where children are loved, given the care that allows them to heal from being abandoned, and ultimately is a place where they will grow into balanced young adults with a foundation for a brighter future.
Any donations to support our endeavours are greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your support!
