Micheline and her daughter Sophia’s lives didn’t just change when Adam died suddenly on September 11, 2024 —
they fractured.
Sophia was six years old when she lost her dad.
She is seven now, learning to carry grief far earlier than any child should have to.
Micheline lost the father of her child, her closest friend, and the person she built her life around.
Before Adam’s death, Sophia had stability — a home, school, friends, and two parents who were fully present in her life. After he passed, everything unraveled.
Micheline and Sophia left Florida and moved to New York so Sophia could be close to where her dad is buried — so she can visit him when grief hits, when questions come, when she needs to feel near him.
They now rent part of a house.
Life is smaller. Quieter. Heavier.
Micheline has no parents to fall back on. No family safety net. No steady support system.
They are still navigating ongoing probate issues, which has delayed stability and added significant stress.
At the same time, Micheline is facing mounting bills, no consistent outside support, and the very real fear of job instability and potential layoffs.
Bills don’t pause for grief.
Uncertainty doesn’t wait until you’re ready.
Even while carrying all of this, Micheline continues to show up for others.
On TikTok, @wishyouwerehereblog, she speaks openly about grief and healing — sharing her experience so others don’t feel alone, even while she herself is still standing in the middle of it.
This GoFundMe is not about fixing the unfixable.
Nothing can bring Adam back.
It’s about time.
Six months of breathing room.
Six months without constant panic.
Six months where survival isn’t the only focus.
Support for basic living needs.
A cushion while probate continues.
A pause — so healing has space to happen.
If you have $1, thank you.
If you can share, thank you.
If all you can do is leave a kind word — that matters too.
This is a way to say: You are seen.
You are loved.
You are not alone...
