Breanna's Pain-Free Future: Spinal Procedure Help
Donation protected
Some of you know my daughter Breanna, and if you don't, you're missing out on someone bright, empathetic, and kind. Breanna is a pediatric nurse who shines helping even the smallest of patients. She is also attending St. Catherine University where she is working on her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree.
Breanna's back pain started in adolescence. She saw numerous doctors until a small stress fracture was found in her L4. This led to a few months in a back brace. We thought that was the end of her back pain. Unfortunately, Breanna's back pain would wax and wane throughout the years where she would see doctors, Physical Therapists, and Chiropractors, who couldn't give specific answers to what was causing the pain and how we could fix it.
Recently an MRI was completed of Breanna's lower spine that showed several Schmorl's nodes, Modic II endplate degenerative signal changes, bilateral facet arthropathy, and disc desiccation with degenerative disc disease. While there is nothing that can be done to reverse the degeneration, there is a procedure that can help promote healing and reduce pain. This procedure is an Intradiscal PRP that will be done in three sections on her spine.
This procedure unfortunately is not covered by insurance due to being a relatively new procedure. Breanna is planning on emptying her retirement account to pay for this procedure.
Breanna spends her time caring for others, now is the time where we can help care for her. For those who are unable to donate, please consider sharing this to help reach as many people as we can.
