4467 strict pull ups in 12 hours and $15,000…

On Saturday April 4 I am going to try and break the Guinness Book of World Records for most strict pull ups done in 12 hours by a female…and 12 days later I am leaving to go on a service trip to Malawi, Africa.

One year ago I got my first ever strict pull up! This is something I have wanted to be able to do for a very very long time. Once I was able to get a few pull ups together, I got my worst idea ever...break the world record for most pull ups done by a female in 12 hours. At this time the record was 2,277. I thought this was a lot, and I knew it was going to be hard, but I was going to give it a shot. 5 months later when my application was finally approved by the Guiness Book of World Records, the record had been broken and is now 4466...almost doubled! This was definitely a kick to my confidence, I was doubting myself and I started second guessing my decision. I am not trying to prove anything to anyone, why do I really need to do this? I am in good shape and happy with where I am in life. This now seemed like too big of an undertaking and I should just find something else to do.

So...I started to pray about it. I asked God to please lead me in the right direction of whether I should give this a shot or not. I gave him A LOT of reasons why I KNEW this was a bad idea and I definitely shouldn't do it. Over the last few months I have learned if you are going to pray and ask God for something, you better LISTEN when he answers you! There has been many things that have happened over the last few months that I know is God pushing me to do this. His timing is perfect and his plans are going to happen whether you like it or not. So here we go!

Malawi is the 3rd poorest nation in the world. Due to the difficult economic realities in Malawi, there are very few options for people (women especially) to survive. The Village of Hope was built 10 years ago to help get women out of “sex work”. These women leave prostitution, spend 10 months at the Village of Hope, learn a new trade, start a business and are able to start a new life!

The current Village of Hope is near Monkey Bay in Malawi. There have been 100 women that have graduated from this program over the last 10 years, currently 10 women there now, and a waiting list of 30 women waiting to go.

My goal is to raise $15,000 to buy a piece of land near Lilongwe, Malawi (which is the capital city). This would allow another Village of Hope to be built, and many many more women to be reached! They would be able to get out of sex work and provide for their families in a much better way.

So, with your help, a few pull ups from me...on April 4, 2026 at Kinetic Energy in Steamboat Springs, CO from 5am-5pm... (fingers crossed) a world record is going to be broken and $15,000 will be raised to help women start a new life. Thank you all very very much and I would love to see you on Saturday April 4 at Kinetic to help me do this!
