My name is Sarian, and I’m fundraising to support children and families in Sierra Leone living with disabilities and developmental conditions such as Down syndrome.
Growing up in Sierra Leone, I saw how limited awareness and access to support can leave families struggling. Conditions such as Down syndrome are sometimes misunderstood and attributed to evil spirits or other beliefs because people simply have not been given the right information or education. This cause is deeply important to me because I want to help change those perceptions and remind people that these children deserve love, dignity, acceptance and opportunities just like everyone else.
Funds raised will be used to provide essential support, including basic necessities, hygiene and sanitation items, educational resources and other practical assistance for children and families who need it. A portion will also support awareness and education to help reduce stigma and encourage greater understanding of disabilities and mental health. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser can still help us reach more people and bring hope to families who need support.
