I have always had a passion for giving—whether it’s my time or my money—to people in need. My dad always impressed upon me the importance of being generous with both, and I’ve carried that lesson with me throughout my life. As a chef for many years, I know that food has a special power to connect people. Now, as a Farmer’s Insurance Agent at The Longan Agency, I strive to serve people through good, honest business, but I also want to be a blessing to as many people as I can. Every week, I buy Santiago’s breakfast burritos for my office, and it’s become a tradition that brings us together. I’ve always wanted to make a difference in my community, and I believe that sharing a hot meal is one of the most meaningful ways to do that. That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser—to buy Santiago’s breakfast burritos and bottles of water to hand-deliver directly to people experiencing homelessness on the streets of Denver. Each month, I’ll use the funds raised to purchase as many as possible and personally deliver them, along with a bottle of water, to those who need it most. A new fundraising campaign will be announced each month, and distribution will happen the following month. We all deserve to eat and be seen, and I hope this small act of kindness can make a big difference.
