Break the Friday the 13th Curse!
The Friday the 13th Curse?
Friday the 13th of April, 2018, was the last day of a 4.5 year tenure at Convergys (Formerly Stream) as they closed their Wilsonville, Oregon, call center and those of us still there were laid-off. OK... Not creepy... Just... Friday the 13th... Right?
Friday the 13th of July, 2018, was my last day at a position that I had gotten through a contract center 3 weeks prior. That position was with a different company, but back in Wilsonville. And the end of the contract was rather shockingly abrupt. OK... Losing my job on two consecutive Friday the 13ths actually is creepy.
Is it a Curse? I don't know... But I intend to keep trying to find gainful employment that will, again, last.
All that said, this has made things difficult for making rent and bills. My Unemployment Insurance must be reviewed before I can start getting benefits again, and even then the benefits were barely making ends meet. I was advised that the review will take 3 weeks, possibly more.
Right now my Wife and I could really use a helping hand. Just until I either am drawing a paycheck again, or getting my unemployment benefits again. I can assure you that I am applying to virtually any place that I have experience for (mostly call center and IT work) in hopes of finding something quickly.
--RENT: $1,150/mo (10% late fee per day late; Eviction at 10 days late with double rent owed)
--Bills: Approximately $1,100/mo (Electric, Phone, Internet, Food, a mountain of medical debt, and a similar mountain of education debt)
