Shattered China’s Sky Blockage: the Miraculous 20 Years Journey of a radio company

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) rules the people via deception and media control. There are tens of thousands of media outlets in China, but ALL of them are under the CCP control . The CCP investes tens of billions of yuan every year to build/maintain the Great Firewall and dozens of super high power jamming stations.

Sound of Hope (SOH) began broadcasting to mainland China through Taiwan in 2004. However, in 2012, the Chinese Communist Party put pressure on Taiwan government and forcibly terminated Sound of Hope's broadcasting from Taiwan to China. Since then, Sound of Hope independently innovated and developed a unique broadcast network consisting of 120 shortwave radio stations around China. It is the only private radio network that combines digital technology and traditional broadcasting to successfully broadcast on all shortwave frequencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a low cost.

Our broadcast signals have broken through the CCP’s signal interference and covered 60% of Mainland China’s land and 80% of its population. Our volunteers established this huge shortwave broadcasting network in the mountains, grasslands, deserts, and jungles under unimaginably difficult conditions; Sent continuous, uninterrupted, and real consultation to China. The result of all these efforts is from the plateau of Inner Mongolia to the harbor of Hainan Island, from Xinjiang to Shandong. Since 2008, the signal of the SOH has filled the sky, and the voice of freedom can be heard from people in most parts of China!

In order to establish and maintain this radio network, SOH volunteers faced many dangers. In 2010, two Vietnamese volunteers were arrested and sentenced to prison for three years due to pressure from the CCP and the Vietnamese authorities for establishing a shortwave radio station in northern Vietnam. Another Taiwanese volunteer lost his position as a senior manager in Thailand because of the CCP’s pressure on the Thailand government. Some volunteers have traveled far away for shortwave radio stations, and have been looking after the radio stations in the wild far away from home for 10 years.

中共最著重防範的地方正是他最薄弱的地方，因此持續不斷地穩定的傳播真相的渠道就成了能夠改變中國最重要的東西。那麼什麼渠道能做到這點呢？答案之一是短波廣播。我們都很熟悉的調頻調幅廣播信號只能傳遞大概100公里的距離，而短波廣播呢，是通過把廣播信號，用高頻、低角度向天空發射，通過大氣層中像鏡子一樣的一個電離層折射向地面，甚至於多次重複，來達到跨越幾千公里的目地。收聽短波廣播只需要一台簡單的短波收音機。在沒有乾擾的時候，拉開天線，全天候都可以聽到。

從1942年開始美國之音那就通過短波像日本帝國、納粹德國、前蘇聯和東歐廣播。在整個的冷戰期間，短波廣播對於共產黨鐵幕背後的人們了解真相起到了巨大的作用。在1991年蘇聯解體的時候，人們是否意識到，美國之音已經對蘇聯廣播了將近50年？在蘇聯解體前，很多蘇聯人都在悄悄地收聽西方的短波廣播。在莫斯科，一些有條件的民眾 會在深夜開車幾十公里出去，到政府的短波干擾信號圈之外，停下來在那裡收聽短波廣播。

共產黨國家對付短波的方法呢就是用同樣的頻率來播放乾擾的信號，讓廣播台和乾擾台聲音重疊，這樣聽眾就沒有辦法順利地收聽。為了乾擾和抗干擾，一個本來只需要一千瓦甚至幾百瓦功率，就可以讓目標地區清晰地聽到信號的這麼一個短波電台，被迫不斷地提高功率來壓制干擾的功率，而乾擾台也會不斷提高他的功率，這種軍備競賽式的攻防戰，迫使雙方就不斷地投入巨額的資金，把廣播的功率推高到10萬、20萬甚至50萬瓦，使得短波廣播也稱為天空中看不見的戰爭。

希望之聲自主研發獨創了圍繞中國周邊的，由120個短波電台組成的巨大的廣播網。就是唯一一家結合了數字科技和傳統廣播，用低廉的成本成功在所有的短波頻率進行7天24小時廣播的民間電台網。我們的廣播信號擊破了中共的信號干擾，覆蓋了中國60%的土地，和80%的人口 。我們的廣播規模幾乎超過了所有國家級的電台，我們的義工在山間、在草原、在荒漠、在叢林裡，在難以想像的艱苦的條件下建立了這個巨大規模的短波廣播網，就是為了給中國送入持續的、不間斷的、真實的諮詢。所有這些付出的結果是，從內蒙古的高原到海南島的港灣，從新疆的伊犁到膠東的威海。從2008年開始，希望之聲的信號就充滿了天空，從中國大部分地區的人民都可以聽到的自由的聲音！

為了建立和維護這個廣播網，希望之聲義工還面臨著很多的危險，在2010年，兩位越南的義工因為在越南北部建立短波廣播電台，被中共施壓越南當局被抓捕，判刑入獄三年。另外一位台灣的義工的在泰國因為中共施壓泰國政府 ，最後丟失了他在泰國的高級主管的職位。有的義工為了短波電台，遠走他鄉，10年如一日在離家遙遠的野外看護著電台。

希望之聲的對華廣播完全是由民間的資源來完成，我們迫切需要資金來維持這個承載著無數人希望的短波廣播網。中國著名的盲人維權律師陳光誠這麼說：“儘管網絡在不斷的發展，但是在廣大的農村短波還是有著非常非常廣泛的市場，即使有了網路的地方，短波和網路也是一個互補的關係，而不是一個說，它可以完全代替的問題，而且希望之聲能夠向大家講清楚很多沒有想清楚的一些問題。非常容易的幫助我們理解這個事情，理解中國為什麼不公正“
