The B&R Foundation
Who we are?
The B&R foundation is a small family-run charitable cause initiated by our late grandparents Bahadur Ali (1936-2011) & Razia Begum (1948-2021) on hand delivering support and aid to the incredibly poor in Pakistan in order to make a telling difference to their lives.
This noble cause which had helped so many over the years, has become our pledge to continue the sadqa and humane responsibility of helping those not so fortunate. Our late grandparents always commented that Allah SWT had blessed them with the privilege of a life abroad with earnings that exceeded their needs. The donations no matter how small made an enormous life changing difference to these poor who were starved of basic needs or needed a daughter marrying or for shelter, support for disabled children, funeral costs etc etc.
What do we do?
We aim to help improve the living standards of the underprivileged and provide opportunities to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds and difficult circumstances. We work on providing food, provisions, shelter, clothing, water wells, educational funds, allowances for gaining new skills, empowerment and delivering basic needs first-hand and DIRECT.
Why Pakistan?
Pakistan has the world’s sixth biggest population, however a fifth are still living in poverty. * 39% of Pakistan population is living in poverty
* 9.3% of urban and 54% of the rural population lives in poverty
* Over 40 million children work to provide food for their families
* 18% of people of Pakistan severely lack access to food
* In rural communities over 50% of children are malnutrition
* Pakistan ranks 106th out of 119 countries on Global Hunger Index
* Millions of people lack access to nutritional food, clean drinking water and adequate sanitation
* High food and fuel prices are driving thousands of families into poverty.
Our grandparents were of Punjabi Pakistani heritage and for them (also in sunnah) charity starts at home. They witnessed the poverty first hand and were in a position to ensure that 100% of the collections were delivered direct. This is the direction we and purpose we endeavour to fulfil.
