Jessica Brazer's Journey to Motherhood

“Motherhood is the biggest gamble in the world. It’s huge and scary—it’s an act of infinite optimism.”
Jessica Brazer has spent the last fifteen years having a hand in raising and educating other people’s children, crafting strong literary minds and good humans. She’s a social justice warrior, determined to provide a world class education to all children. She’s joyfully been an aunt for many years, and a special friend to many of us with children. She is a beautiful person, a loving aunt, and an incredible friend.
This summer, while starting her own journey to motherhood, Jess found out she had Non-Hodgkin’s Follicular Lymphoma. After losing her own mother to cancer as a young girl, one can only imagine how earth-shattering this news was.
But she fought. And continues to fight and feel better every day.
After spending most of her savings in pursuit of the very best testing and treatment, she is now, thankfully, in a “watch and wait” program after a lymph node tumor was removed earlier this month. Jess has been cleared to have children of her own - a true miracle. With all the love and dedication she has selflessly given over the years, she deserves to know motherhood. And the baby that will one day call her “mama” deserves to know an incredible woman whose love and fierce purpose knows no bounds.
In whatever time we have in this life, we attempt to live to the fullest. With the memory of her own mother always on her mind, Jess deserves to know the same love. Because she will give this baby every ounce of love and optimism her heart can manage.
Please join me in raising money for the realization of this dream, an endless source of fight, gratitude, and hopefulness.
