This Fundraiser has been initiated by Old Conna Wood Residents in Bray in order to raise funds for Bray Women’s Refuge. Your support is very much appreciated.
Bray Women's Refuge
Supporting Women & Children Experiencing Domestic Abuse in County Wicklow since 1978
Providing relevant support and information for women regardless
of whether they are resident in the refuge or not
Assisting individuals to understand their legal options to safety
Increasing general public awareness on the issues relating to domestic violence
Lobbying the state regarding relevant legislation to make Ireland a safer place for all
who experience violence and abuse
The Bray Women's Refuge upholds a philosophy of mutual self-help and
empowerment which underpins the way they work with clients which is:
Non judgemental
Unconditional
And always with positive regard
The ethos of the women's refuge is a developmental one:
To support and assist women and children to recover from the effects and trauma of
domestic violence and abuse
To assist women to regain their strength and capacity to empower and support them
to make informed decisions about what is right for them.
Staff are qualified and skilled and uphold the highest level of confidentiality to ensure a professional service to those seeking our support. To be effective, domestic violence support organisations model relationships of equality and fairness, and re-conceptualise power in a way that distinguishes between creative power and violating power. Women who have experienced domestic violence have experienced an abuse of power, and we recognise that children in these homes can be impacted and traumatised by the abuses they witness. The Bray Women's Refuge is committed to upholding the highest standards of care and support for the adults and children we work with.
Thank you for taking the time to support this organisation.
