In July, I’ll be shaving my head to raise money for Daffodil Cottage — an organisation that has meant so much to my family over the last 9 years.

Ten years ago, my beautiful mum Brenda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We were incredibly fortunate that it was detected early, and she underwent the Whipple procedure at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to remove the cancer.

After recovering well, we later received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had returned. This time it was a rare cancer, and because of its location, it was inoperable.

Since then, Daffodil Cottage has been an incredible support to our family, helping Mum access treatment locally and supporting so many other families throughout our regional community during some of the hardest times in their lives.

This head shave is my way of giving back to an organisation that gives so much to others. Every donation, big or small, will help continue the amazing support and care they provide to families like ours.
