We should reward these two brave everyday Glaswegians.

Two everyday men Lamin Kongira & James Welch deserve our support for their acts of bravery.

When I created this GoFundMe I did not personally know Lamin or James. I created it in reaction to racist and judgmental comments on social media about two men who tried to help whilst most just watched.

I live in Glasgow and will meet them both at Glasgow Central Station to give them whatever is donated or ensure GoFundMe gets the funds transferred equally to them both.

Update: (Tuesday 10th March 2026)

I now have James as a Facebook friend and I am waiting to get a contact number for Lamin.

If either of these two everyday Glasgow hero’s does not want to receive a financial reward then they can choose to donate their half of whatever is raised to a charity of their choice, or the other can have it all, as is their right.

It is publicly stated in the media that they are both homeless therefore anything raised will surely help them.

There is more that unites us as Glaswegians than divides us.

Ment James on Thursday and went for some food and heard his story, good guy.

I intend to transfer £27.50 or 50% of donations to my personal card to give to James in cash. James does not have a bank account and has requested the funds. I will update this GoFundMe with a photo.
