Bransford Community Center

The Bransford Community Center is an institution geared towards the enrichment and enhancement of all residents of Robertson County and beyond.

A few years ago, the old Bransford High School from which we were operating many of our programs, was torn down. This wasn't what we intended - and in fact, it was the last thing we expected. We were devastated.

We had hoped that the contractors were going to be able to remove just the gymnasium and we would rebuild that off of the existing building. Unfortunately, during the process of removing the gym, it left the entire building structurally unsound and we were forced to lose everything we had by tearing the entire building down.

It left us with a huge hole to fill in housing the children that we live to serve.

We especially are proud of our after-school program, Bransford Pride, where we work with youth who may not have many opportunities outside of our organization to dream bigger. Together, we encourage them, educate them, motivate them, get them to believe in their own futures and build lasting relationships that impact them in tremendous ways.

We do this all with the little resources we are given and have collected, but we do it with the utmost honor. It is our privilege to serve these wonderful children and to serve our community.

We are used to facing our share of challenges, so we took on the massive effort of reimagining Bransford Pride's future. And it all begins with the Bransford Community Center.

The Center, which will be located on the grounds where the Bransford High School once stood, will stand for unification across all groups of Robertson County.

Poor or wealthy. Minority or non-minority. Old and young. All will be welcome through our doors as we work to build a safe haven for community members to enjoy each other's company in while learning, networking, playing and growing.

The project doesn't come without its own set of challenges. First is the financial cost. The City of Springfield has agreed to donate up to $2.5 million in matching funds, so long as The Greater Faith Community Action Corporation (the non-profit under which Bransford runs) can raise the same or more.

As a non-profit, we are stretched for resources, time and money. Also, this massive goal does not stop us from focusing on our daily priority: continuing the programs that have saved so many children after-school each year by giving them a safe and loving place to stay.

We are asking you to help us. Even $1 will count. Can't donate? Share this GoFundMe in hopes that your network will be able to help.

We will work tirelessly to raise the funds to rebuild a space for our programs to continue to thrive within. Together, we can unify all the walks of life of Robertson County and beyond.
