Hello everyone! My name is Brandon Hale and I am a senior at the University of Pittsburgh. This year I am the president of the organization MEDLIFE (Medicine, Education, and Development for Low-Income Families Everywhere), and during spring break we will be providing medical service to the impoverished communities in Riobamba, Ecuador. Activities at our mobile clinics include: teaching kids how to brush their teeth and wash their hands, assisting in dental procedures, shadowing physicians, preparing prescriptions, working in triage, and education. Additionally, we perform a development project specific to the community (constructing greenhouses, painting stairs, developing a youth center). This will be my last opportunity to travel and provide critical service with MEDLIFE, which has taught me so much over the past years. These mobile clinics lead to hundreds of patients receiving basic, necessary, medical care, and any donation will go directly towards funding the cost of the program.
