First and foremost, Brandon and I would like to extend our most sincere gratitude and appreciation for your love and support you have given us! We look forward to sharing our journey to expand our family through adoption with you.
Brandon and I have been together for seven years and married for five. Brandon has been in the Marine Corps for eight years and planning on doing twenty years. We have been through an unaccompanied overseas duty station, two deployments, and multiple duty stations.
Our journey to start our family happened unexpectedly a few months after we got married and had the unfortunate experience of going through miscarriage in September of 2010. We went through two more miscarriages in a matter of 6 months and have not had a positive pregnancy test since April of 2011. We have been to three different fertility specialists in 4 years and have had numorous tests done and received the diagnosis of "unexplained infertility." We have finally received a diagnosis of what they call poor ovarian reserve, meaning my ovaries did not produce the normal amount of eggs you are born with, I was born with about 1/2-3/4 less than what is considered "normal," with this diagnosis it is nearly impossible to have biological children.
We have experienced rough and hard times and have felt sadness and heartbreak. So in light of everything we've been through, we have recently decided it didn't matter how we expanded our family, we just want to be parents more than anything in the world.
Adopting was always in the back of our minds as a possiblility, never as a primary way we would extend our little family. We are super excited to embark on this journey of adoption and cannot wait to meet our child!
Once again, thank you so much for your love, support, and prayers!!!
