Forster Tuncurry Golf Club is raising funds to help Braithen as he navigates a difficult cancer diagnosis.

For those that don’t know, Braithen was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in February a diagnosis that came as a complete shock to him, his partner Leaanna and his family. Braithen had surgery in March to remove his thyroid, some complications arose during surgery and they were only able to remove half as it had spread more then they originally thought. Braithen is currently waiting for another surgery date where they plan to remove some of his trachea to get clear margins he will then be given radio active iodine to kill whatever cancer remains. This is a big surgery which may carry some life changing effects. He will spend up to 10 days in intensive care. Braithen will not be able to work for an extended period of time after the surgery as he will need time to recover and undergo treatment. Braithen is never one to complain, never one to ask for help and never one to back down from a challenge.
