Hi, my name is Jack. As many of you are aware, my dad, John Bailey, was diagnosed just over two years ago with a rare intradural extramedullary brain tumour called a Haemangioblastoma. He underwent major surgery which, thankfully, saved his life. Following the operation, he was unable to leave the house for months, and since then his recovery has been an incredibly difficult journey- learning to walk again, regaining the use of his hands, and relearning everyday tasks that most of us take for granted.
There is no doubt in my mind that my dad would not be here today if it weren’t for the incredible doctors, nurses, aftercare teams, and, of course, Brain Tumour Research, who never gave up.
I am running the London Marathon on April 26th as a way of saying thank you, and to help ensure that future men, women, and children do not have to endure the pain and struggles faced by my father and so many others, and instead receive the vital support they need when they need it most.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support.
