Braille for Bucks

Greetings from the sisters of the Alpha Phi chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of British Columbia! For our Fall Philanthropy, we will be hosting our first annual “Braille for Bucks”

For the month of October, the ladies of Delta Gamma will be spending time brailling books and menus for community members who are blind or visually impaired.

The goal of our Fall philanthropy is to greatly impact the lives of our community members who are blind or visually impaired. We believe this will benefit the members of our community as we are making resources throughout the community more accessible!

We would like to thank you for your participation in our fundraiser benefiting the Delta Gamma Foundation, Blind Beginnings. A portion of the donated funds will go towards purchasing children's books that will be brailled.

Since 1963, our national philanthropy has been Service for Sight. Delta Gammas across the United States and Canada fundraise and volunteer their time (approximately 120,000 hours per year) to assist those who are blind or visually impaired. Four schools for children who are blind or visually impaired have been established by Delta Gammas and continue to thrive to this day. Donations from our fundraising events also assist in the area of grants to organizations that share our Service for Sight mission. We are making a difference!
