Braeden's Eagle Project: Wiley Gaga Ball Pit

Hi, my name is Braeden Heberling and I am a Life Scout in Troop 441 out of Austin, Texas. To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout I must carry out a project that will benefit my community.

I chose to build a Gaga Ball Pit for Wiley Middle School within Leander ISD providing an inclusive activity that students of all ages and abilities could partake in. Wiley students are deserving in every way of such an outdoor activity that could provide the foundation for engaging fun whether that be for kids to have fun after lunch or use with physical education classes.

We will level out the play area and lay a ground surface free of rocks. The gaga ball pit will be built out of high-quality composite wood with durable brackets. It will include an ADA doorway so that everyone can join in on the fun.

Outside of Scouts, I am a Cadet Second Lieutenant with the Civil Air Patrol Pegasus Squadron and currently, I am attending the Marine Military Academy. I've been in Scouts since I was five years old working my way up through the Cub Scout ranks as a Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and earning my Arrow of Light with Pack 203. As a Boy Scout, I continued to rank up through Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life. Now, my sights are on Eagle the highest rank attainable in Scouting.

This project is the final puzzle piece to my dream of achieving Eagle Scout and what better way than to give to Wiley.
