My name is Brady Snyder, and I am currently a Life Scout at Troop 61 in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Despite various obstacles impacting my journey, from the city denying my project plan, to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to my departure to college, I am now on the final stretch of my path to Eagle Scout. Although these obstacles have derailed my original plan, Boy Scouts of America has granted me an extension that gives me until December 21, 2020 to complete my project.
My Eagle Scout project plan is to construct an outdoor seating area for my alma mater Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, New Jersey. I thought the best way to give back to the school that has given me so much would be to build six picnic tables from scratch to fulfill the need for outdoor seating, which is magnified due to COVID-19. This area will also contain four grow boxes for the science club to start a community garden, as a thank you to the Battelle science program that offered me a scholarship to attend Holy Spirit in the first place.
This project is the finish line of a long journey that I began over 10 years ago as a Cub Scout in Pack 61. It is important to me that I finish my scouting journey as an Eagle Scout and that I give back to my alma mater, Holy Spirit. Any donations you may be able to provide towards my project would be greatly appreciated.
