APSC Freedom Ride 2022
Biking is one of APSC 's most beloved activities and ways to welcome people home. After taking a two-year hiatus, our team is ready to get back on its wheels and continue the tradition of biking for freedom alongside our community members.
This June, our bike team will make its second journey in support of APSC’s work to support incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, and deported community members. We ride for members of our community who have been deported; we support those who are currently incarcerated; we work to create education and leadership opportunities for formerly incarcerated people.
The APSC Bike Team will ride 30 miles from West Oakland to Richmond as a show of solidarity and support for our community. Our bike team is aiming to raise $25,000 this year and we’re calling on our community for support. These funds will go towards APSC's work in supporting:
- Sustaining political education in-reach programs at San Quentin, California Institute for Women, and Central California Women's Facility
- Reentry services and programming
- Anti-deportation campaign support
- Developing formerly incarcerated leadership
- Supporting members that have been deported
We hope that you can support us to the finish line, help us bring more people home, and continue building and healing our communities!
