Hi guys, in July 2026 I'll be travelling to Africa with my 6th form (Urmston Grammar; pending GCSE results) to volunteer for 9 days.

The trip costs over £2,000 per person. The intention is that all pupils attending raise the money to fund the experience themselves - that and my Dad is too tight to contribute!

We will be visiting either Ghana, Kenya or Zanzibar to provide support with the resources that the people in those communities need to grow and develop.

I have decided to push myself massively out of my comfort zone and run 1 mile a day in August to try to hit my funding target. That's 31 miles, or 50 kilometres! For those who know me, you'll know that I hate running and this will be a massive test of my commitment and mental strength. Every pound donated will help me stay on track and motivate me to complete the challenge.
