From Melbourne to the World: Help Us Publish the Global Voices of BPD Raw
Hi everyone,
My name is Dene. I am a 58-year-old man living in Melbourne, Australia, and I live with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Three weeks ago, I launched a project close to my heart called BPD Raw.
The mission of BPD Raw is international: we are collecting raw, unfiltered letters from all around the world. We are gathering stories not only from those who suffer from BPD, but also from the family members, partners, and loved ones who stand by them. This project is a dedicated space for global honesty—bringing together diverse perspectives of struggle, unconditional love, resilience, and lived experience from every corner of the globe to collectively smash the deep-rooted stigma surrounding this diagnosis.
The global response has been immediate and overwhelming. In just three weeks, our page has grown to 170 followers, and I am receiving an influx of powerful, deeply moving letters from people worldwide who are desperate to be heard and understood.
The world is responding, but I cannot manage this global movement alone.
Right now, I am running this entire international operation from a single laptop in Melbourne. I don’t have a proper office setup. Sorting, reading, and formatting a high volume of international correspondence on a single small screen is becoming a massive bottleneck.
To give these global voices the respect they deserve and to prepare these letters for ultimate publication as a book, I need to transition BPD Raw from a passion project on a laptop into a properly equipped advocacy hub.
What your donations will fund:
* A Dedicated Melbourne Workspace: Securing a small, functional office space or dedicated desk where I can manage international communications and project administration.
* Essential Office Equipment: A proper desk, an ergonomic chair, and extra screens so I can efficiently format, edit, and organize text from multiple time zones without physical strain.
* Publishing & Book Preparation: Early-stage administration costs to prepare this global collection of letters for professional publication, ensuring our community and their loved ones get a permanent voice on the world stage.
By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping build the infrastructure needed to reduce stigma and amplify BPD voices globally, right here from Melbourne. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this link with your network to help spread the word.
Thank you for standing with me, with BPD Raw, and with the global BPD community.
With gratitude,
Dene
