Eagle Scout Project: Dog Park at Agan Park

Hi,

My name is August Tabacheck. For my Boy Scout Eagle Project I am designing and building a Dog Park at Agan Park. Agan Park is located on Riddle Run Road In Springdale township. It is jointly owned by Springdale and Cheswick boroughs.

The reason I have chosen to build a dog park is because years ago before my Dad passed away we talked about how my Eagle project could really be an opportunity to do something big for the community. We talked specifically about a dog park because of our love of dogs and the need for one in Springdale. Agan Park is also very special to me and my family. I have grown up going there for different scouting events or just to hike the trails. Putting the dog park there just felt right. I want my project to be something that both benefits the community (2 and 4 legged) and makes my Dad proud.

My plan includes clearing out an area of weeds and dead trees and using 5 foot chain link Fencing to enclose a 50x 50 yard area. It will have double gates so the dogs can get in and out safely, garbage cans, clearly posted rules and benches for people to sit. The funds will go toward these supplies. After the completion of the project any remaining donations will go to the Agan Park Board. Please help me make a difference in the community and honor my Dad.
