BSA Eagle Project Building a Natural Play Area
What is the project?
At the Johnsonburg Youth Retreat Center there is a specific area (images shown below) that I have since cleaned up and am going to construct a play area in for the youth campers to enjoy. In the past I have been a camper here and there was not really a playground designated for the younger group of ages around or below ten; therefore this would be an addition to focus on enhancing the experience of those kids and hopefully keeping them interested at coming to camp and returning. The area will be designed with components that are meant to keep kids going in a circle so they can continue and alter the course to however they determine.
Where do the funds go?
The funds would be donated in order to help afford the tools and equipment, the people who have committed their time, and money to help maintain the components in years to come along with donations to help the camp after being affected by COVID. None of the funds will be to my personal benefit, all will go to those who helped.
If $3,000 is met, $1,500 will be spent on another component that would be installed separately. The component is a rope seat that would intertwine between the trees for the younger kids to climb on.
