Our mission is to finish what we started almost 10 years ago: Our New Two-Sheet Ice Rink. Its contract was voted by a City Council super-majority. The contractor was selected; work began; site cleared; foundations poured; steel superstructure fabricated; and the walls and roof were created. We celebrated as a community! The completion timeline had our new facility set to open in September of 2021.  Then tragedy struck. The current City Council abandoned the under-construction work. Millions and Millions of dollars were wasted. Shame, shame on them.  Do we want you to help pay for it? No! Bonds were sold. Money is in the "bank" to pay all the construction costs of the new rink.  The money raised by this site will be used by an ad hoc group of moms, dads, and great kids to receive skilled legal advice to try to stop this incredible waste of over $11m Taxpayer dollars wasted by the City Mayor and three City Council members by stopping this project while it is under construction, AND shifting the bond money secured for its completion to a project favored by the Mayor. If there's any extra money it will be donated to skating-based causes like Wounded Warrior skaters!   Please help us fight this injustice! https://bowie4bowieice.com/
