This fundraiser began as a way to support people directly on the ground at Mni Owe Sni, families, elders, and community members who needed real help in real time.
What started as mutual aid quickly grew into something bigger. Organizing, protecting space, and building community-led systems rooted in our values.
With your support, we were able to provide direct aid like food, shelter, and transportation, support families facing displacement, reinvest back into Native artists and small businesses, and build and maintain a functioning camp that prioritized elders, women, and children.
Every dollar has gone back into the people and the work. We’ve stayed grounded in transparency, and that won’t change.
Through that experience, one thing became clearer, we can’t just respond to crises, we have to prevent them. That means protecting land, water, and the future before it’s taken from us.
We are now preparing to organize and support a long-term, Indigenous-led presence near the Boundary Waters. This next phase is focused on protecting sacred land and water, building relationships with local tribal communities including the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and creating a structured, community-supported camp.
This is about standing in a good way, organized, prepared, and rooted in community.
Funds will go directly toward camp setup like tents and shelter materials, food and kitchen coordination, fuel and transportation for supply runs, safety and de-escalation support, media and documentation, and supporting elders and spiritual leaders who guide the space.
This is not overhead. This is direct, on-the-ground impact.
I’m committing my time, energy, and presence fully to this work. This next phase means stepping forward with intention, preparation, and responsibility & not just reacting, but building something that can hold people long-term.
If you’ve supported before, you’re already part of this story. If you’re just finding this, now is the time to stand with us.
Donate if you can. Share if you can’t. Every bit helps move this forward.
