"Due to dire circumstances at the Botshabelo Orphanage, in the Magaliesburg in South Africa, I am asking my peeps to consider lending a hand.
The education department cut the orphanage’s school grant yesterday out of the blue. They are appealing the decision and seeking legal advice. The orphanage pre-pays the kid’s education costs out of their living expenses and then get reimbursed. The funding being cut means their living costs are now depleted and they are in a dire situation.
The orphanage is run by my very close friends Con and Marion Cloete and their daughters Leigh and Nicole. All of the Cloete’s are very proud people and wonderful parents to the more than 300 kids they look after. I know they feel terrible that they have to appeal with hat in hand but they are desperate to maintain normality at the orphanage and take care of these kids who would otherwise be on the streets and possibly not even alive.
As the African saying goes, ‘Little by Little, a little becomes a lot.’" - Trevor Romain
