Boston University Mask Initiative

We are a group of medical students at Boston University School of Medicine seeking to aid in the protection of our community in the South End of Boston against COVID-19. This pandemic continues to plague our community’s most vulnerable residents disproportionately and strain our health care system.
Given the ongoing public health crisis, we have created the BU Mask Initiative (BUMI). The purpose is to collect and distribute masks to vulnerable individuals in need to protect both themselves as well as the community in the coming months while we await a vaccine against COVID-19. The shelters in our community have a shortage of masks to provide to the individuals facing homelessness who utilize their services. We hope to provide these shelters with mask donations to alleviate the current deficit and prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
We are seeking monetary donations that will be used in full to purchase masks for distribution.
For example:
$10 donation - 50 disposable surgical masks
$100 donation - 600 disposable surgical masks
