Boston Princess Day
Princess Day was originally conceived in 2014 by performance artist Valerie Stephens as a gift to her nieces. Princess Day is a free party for little girls. We said, “You are a Princess just the way you are!” And they came, dressed in an array of imagination from tutus/leggings, full princess fashion to superhero attire, filling the park with laughter and joy. The first year, we expected 25 and got 40. In the second year, 2015, we expected 50 and we got over 100. Each year, the event grew and in 2019, princesses and their families totaling almost 400 came, filling Gertrude Howe’s Park, Roxbury, with laughing, dancing, and sheer beautiful joy. The princesses and their families enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of Princess Crowns; Sash Making, Face Painting, Live Interactive Performances, and a brightly decorated Princess Throne Room for photos.
The year 2020 came with all of its universal challenges and frustrations, but now we move forward with the joy of celebrating 2021 PRINCESS DAY: Celebrating Little Girls of Color, which has evolved into a family day with all the beautiful Princesses in the lead.

(Moms and Dads love crowns too), throne room decorations, etc.

*Equipment rentals- tables and chairs, the all-important portal-potties
*Entertainment, Face Painters, Photographers
