Boston Marathon American Cancer Society fundraiser

Hello everyone:) My name is Kate Bucher and I am 20 years old and from Marshall, MN. Running has had a special place in my heart for about 8 years now. I ran cross country and track in high school and for a year in college at Mankato state but found my passion and love for running with running and training long distances. I decided to sign up for the grandma's marathon this last June, with one goal and that one goal being to qualify and run the Boston Marathon this coming April. I am so proud to say that I qualified and will be running in the Boston Marathon this coming April, and I am SO excited!! This has been a dream of mine for quite some time now, and it’s not always fun and easy to train 80-100miles a week, but it is so rewarding, and I feel so blessed. I want to make this race and training about something bigger than myself though. I want it to have a purpose and so I have decided to start this go fund me to raise money from now until Tuesday, April 18th, which is the day after the race for the American Cancer Society.

I have always wanted to give back to a charity that has meaning to me and a charity that does great work. This charity is perfect for that because my dad battled stage 3 colon cancer from March 2021 to October of 2021. He is now CANCER FREE and healthy!!! He is cancer-free and healthy today because of the doctors, nurses and research that goes into it. For anyone and any family touched by cancer, you know it’s not an easy journey, but it’s comforting knowing that you have great doctors and nurses and the best and latest research and treatments. I would love love love to raise as much money as I can to donate to the American Cancer Society so that other patients and families can have the experience and outcome that my dad and our family had! I would appreciate any donations to reach my goal! Let’s do some good in the world!!
