Borneo trip 2026
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Jack and I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity through my school to go to Borneo in July 2026 for 4 weeks to participate in conservation, community work and explore tropical wilderness on an adventurous 5-day trek.
The trip is a vital learning experience for me as it’ll teach me about our impact on the world. Borneo is the most impacted area in the world for deforestation , as the land is farmed for palm oil which is widely used in products in the supermarkets.
My trip to Borneo is split in three parts:
1) Community project work, supporting locals in helping to build classrooms, constructing and refurbishing community buildings and installing water storage systems.
2) Environmental project work, including working on reforesting the area by growing and replanting native trees and cleaning local beaches.
3)Trekking through the jungles of south-east Asia for 5 days.
I have created this go-fund-me page as the trip has to be self-funded. I need to fundraise £4,850 to be able to go.
I have planned many activities to help raise this money.
I have already started selling unwanted clothes online, I am planning two bingo/quiz nights locally, I’ll have stands in local school fairs selling pancakes, I am writing a presentation for local businesses to sponsor my t-shirt with their logos and many more…
This trip is a great opportunity for me to develop skills for the future such as resilience, problems solving, selling, fundraising, teamwork, work ethics, sustainability and conservation which will be great additions on a CV.
I will be updating my page regularly so you can see what I am doing to raise fund, but I need your help and support. If you’d like to donate no matter how big or small towards my trip please click the donate button below.
Thanks for reading,
Jack
