Every child has a beginning to their story.
But our daughter Hana's story did not begin in a quiet, colorful room, but to the sounds of war and under Gaza's fear-filled sky.
On the tenth of June 2024, while the world was bustling with life, our baby girl took her first breath in the heart of the storm.
We are her parents. Before the seventh of October, our life was normal and stable. We used to work, dream, and plan for the day we would welcome our first child into a warm and safe home. We used to imagine her laughter filling the corners of our house, which we built with love.
But the war did not only steal our home and our livelihood, it stole our simplest dreams.
Today, our "home" is a canvas tent, its fragile walls unable to protect her small body from the biting winter cold or the scorching summer heat. Her bed is just a blanket on the dirt floor, and the sounds of the lullabies we sing to her mix with the sounds of anxiety that surround us from every direction.
Our ultimate goal is to raise $35,000. (Please note: As this campaign is managed from Sweden, the currency is in Swedish Krona, SEK. For reference, 100 SEK is about $10 USD). This amount is the lifeline for her future.
We are launching this campaign with a clear and specific goal: to pull Hana out of this reality and secure a dignified and safe life for her.
This amount will be used entirely to cover the following:
Securing a safe shelter (the largest part of the amount): whether by renting a decent place here, or covering the exorbitant travel costs to move to a place where childhood can flourish away from danger "after an agreement is reached and the crossing is opened".
1. Providing her basic needs: from healthy food, milk, warm clothes, and diapers, to the necessary medical care in this environment full of health risks.
2. To make this big goal achievable, we will use milestone targets.
You will see our goal on the page rise gradually as we reach a new stage thanks to your support, "every dollar brings us one step closer to our final goal and to giving Hana the safety she deserves".
Be the hero of Hana's story! Your donation today, no matter its size, is more than just financial aid; it is a promise to Hana that humanity is still good. It is a message that tells her: "You are not forgotten in this world".
If you are unable to donate, sharing her story with your friends and family is invaluable support.
Help us turn the tragic beginning of her story into a future full of hope and peace.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our journey.
With all love and gratitude..
Hana's Parents
