Border Families Advocate: Continued

Donation protected
Last year Deborah Dorn (CBB 1976) and I searched for a way to respond to the humanitarian crisis on our southern border. In the process, we met a young attorney who we believe is making real systemic change in Tijuana.

Her name is Graciela Zamudio, a name well known to the team of human rights defenders in Tijuana.

This young woman is pretty much devoting all her waking hours to helping these folks and in the process hasn't been earning her own living. So with your help we were able to find donors to provide her rent for the last 12 months.  With the numbers of migrants from all over the world arriving on our southern border looking for safety, her work is far from done.

We are once more trying to raise $600 a month ($7200 for the year).

Graciela states: “Dear Angels, …Not having to worry about my rent is a priceless gift that allows me to collaborate with other human rights defenders to protect and defend the rights of vulnerable migrants”.

All this to say:  Since our hands are tied in so many ways by the brutality and control of the Trump administration, our best path is to support those tireless efforts by Graciela and others in her network.  It's a small thing, to relieve her of the stress of paying rent so that she can be free to devote her time to the needs of her clients.
