Greetings!!

My name is Habtamu Abdi; born and raised in Yabello Borana, Ethiopia. I just came back from Borana a little over a month ago and have witnessed the magnitude and severity of the drought in the area. 

Borana zone is experiencing severe drought and is in desperate need of help. Hundreds of thousands are already experiencing food insecurity while worsening drought has displaced more than 100,000 people from their homes. The lack of rainfall has destroyed crops and livestock, with local farming and pastoralist communities left without an income or food supply.

Thousands of people have no access to water at all and children are malnourished. To make matters worse, communicable diseases are spreading fast as people move and sanitation breaks down.

The raised fund will be directly wired to Borana University and trusted community members in Borana. The volunteers will be purchasing nonperishable food items to be distributed to the most vulnerable beneficiaries.

With your help, we can assist men, women, children, and the elderly by easing their hunger through the provision of essential food items.
