Booze, Smokes, and Food for Austin 's Homeless

Donation protected
If you've ever been through downtown Austin, you've probably seen someone standing on the corner with a squeegee and a bucket of soap washing windows of vehicles sitting at a stoplight. Maybe you've seen the hundred or so people with their sleeping bags, shopping carts with all of their worldly possessions, and little tarp tents set up under the I35 bridges. I see these people almost every day on my transit to and from the University of Texas.

I usually keep a $5 bill in my wallet or a bottle of water in the car to occasionally hand out to these people.

1. I can tell they need it more than me.
2. I like giving to charity, and I know exactly where my money goes.
3. It makes me feel good.

I see a lot of fundraisers for non profit charities all the time on Facebook, but can anybody really tell me how much of their money is actually going directly to the cause, and not to some CEO's pocket? My birthday is coming up and I've decided how I'd like to spend it. I'd like to go around passing out food, smokes, and booze to Austin's homeless population.

Any money that I raise here will go directly to the homeless people living under the I35 bridges in downtown Austin . I'll take photos and document my encounters along the way. If you have a $5 bill in your wallet, and you'd like to be a part of giving someone who's less fortunate than you a beer, a burger, or a pack of smokes, drop in the donate tab below.

Help me make someone's day great.
