Hello!
We are the Larson brothers, Clay (13), Porter (11), and Duke (9). Our family has been doing 4-H and showing lambs at our county fair for 5 years. We have learned a lot through the process and are learning life skills. It's stinky, sweaty, and “builds character” as my mom says.
Raising lambs requires a lot of work. We feed them morning and night, walk them, and clean their pens to make sure they stay healthy. At the fair, our lambs will be judged for quality and we will be judged on our showmanship. We made a goal this year to each get a ribbon for both.
We have been working hard to prepare.
Our financial goal for this year is to earn money to put in our savings, for a mission, and to start a business. We are trying to earn $3500 per lamb. With the money we make, we will replenish our savings from the cost of purchasing our lambs, then pay my dad back for the cost of the feed, and then put the rest in our savings. We have paid $1500 each for our lambs and feed.
The final task in showing and selling a lamb is finding a business or individuals to sponsor or boost us. If you are interested in being the buyer or giving us a boost, there are a few options:
First, you can purchase the lamb at the auction and decide to process the lamb or do a resale.
You don’t have to get stuck with the meat if you don’t want to. Not many people want a stinky pet lamb or even like lamb chops. Trust me, you don’t have to do either!
Second, you can donate an amount that is considered a “boost”.
We appreciate your time and consideration for sponsoring us!
Thank you - The Larson Bros.
