Over the past two years, I have been working to raise nearly $38,000 to privately fund an update to a beloved space in my neighborhood and we are 84% of the way to our $45k goal. We're on the home stretch, but with your help, we can cross the finish line and bring this project to life. Donations of all sizes will get us closer to installing the new equipment by late summer/early fall.

Beyond swings and slides, our playground renovation project unlocked a deeper mission: fostering a vibrant, supportive neighborhood. By creating a welcoming space for play and connection, we spark conversations, collaboration, and shared priorities. Our project was initiated and led by residents, fueled by the passion for a thriving neighborhood. Events like our 'Not So Spooky Forest' brought neighbors together, not just for fun, but to identify and address local needs.

One of the things I'm most proud of is this has been a first-hand look for my girls and our neighborhood kids that anyone can step in and try to make something better and they too, have led many fundraising activities. They've hosted Lemonade and “Starbucks” stands where they ran stands and donated back the proceeds and we've initiated their ideas such as a fun run for the 1st annual neighborhood Turkey Trot. They're never shy to ask if we're close to getting a new park and hopefully next time they ask it will be a resounding YES!

I am working with the Omaha Parks Foundation and funds raised are directed to OPF where they handle the collection due to their status as a 501(c)(3) organization. OPF holds our funds until needed for the project. OPF has been an integral part of our success. Their guidance and generosity of their knowledge, community connections and expertise have been invaluable in our quest to provide community improvement. All funds collected will go directly towards the purchase and installation of the playground equipment.
