Help Us Build a Little Free Library on Wheels for the Portland Pride Parade!

Hi friends!

I'm a Little Free Library Steward with a dream... a Little Free Library on Wheels. I'm raising funds to purchase a wagon and get funds to help me thrift as many books as I can. Imagine it — a mobile, rainbow-wrapped, joy-spreading book wagon that will roll with us around the Portland Pride Parade and live on afterward in as many events as I can attend. And any remaining books will be left around the city in other Little Free Libraries!

This isn’t just a book wagon — it’s a celebration of queer joy, radical love, and accessible literacy. Our goal is to fill the wagon with LGBTQ+ stories, authors, and resources so folks of all ages can find books that reflect who they are and who they dream to be.

Why it matters:

Not everyone has access to affirming stories — especially LGBTQ+ youth and marginalized readers. We want to change that, one book at a time. The wagon will debut at the Pride Parade and then find its way to local parks, community centers, and events across Portland.

Purchase a sturdy wagon for the Little Free Library

Decorate it with inclusive, eye-catching decorations and artwork

Stock it with LGBTQ+ books for all ages (our goal is 100 books)

Whether it’s $5 or $50, every contribution helps bring more color, compassion, and community connection into the world.
