Books For Bayan

Hello my name is Kara Sevilla. I am a rising Junior at Monte Vista High School. I have started a Non-Proftit, along with my friend, Samina Mcleod called, Books For Bayan. Our objective is to promote learning and literacy to the most impoverished areas of the Island of Busuanga, Philippines.

In our time here we have identified the need for more portable desks. Due to the desk shortage children starting from kindergarten age are carrying their desks from room to room. Given the lack of funding only a few children have these lightweight desks. Others are creating their own by plywood. We hope to raise funds enough to bring 200 new desks to these classrooms.
