Hello and thanks to everyone who is stopping by to read this note.

I am Binky, a healthcare professional living in London Ontario. I am trying to arrange school books for more than 800 female students studying in 3 schools of a remote place - Sarsa village of Gujarat state in India. These are government funded schools where teachers and school maintenance is funded by state govt. but books and supplies are students own responsibility. There are 3 schools with head count of 800+ girl students:

MVS High School

Sarsa Kanya School (Girls School)

Kumar Prathmik Shala- (Elemetary school)

It is a remote community and schools get students from small hamlets around the area as well. The kids' parents are generally manual laborers in farms and chicken coops dotted around the landscape.

The schools had a books donor until 2024, but unfortunately the person passed away and their famly cannot continue the same philanthropy. When I walked in the principal's office in February 2025, my plan was to give them their needed supplies worth $1000. But the principal Sonal Madam suggested me to help with this major task. I checked with the books supplier the school was getting the books from and they gave me the price that the donor paid last year in 2024- it is Rs 1,83000 for 6000 notebooks, 7 notebooks per child, 1 notebook per subject. (Conversion rate for dollars on 30 March 2025 is 1 CAD=59.7 INR, 1 USD= 85.56 INR)

I am using $1000 Canadian dollars of my own to pay the bill but am short of the remaining money. I will also cover the Gofundme fees which will be an added 3%. I wish to, but at present can not afford to donate more. I do not wish it for one time, I will be using my $1000 every year for this purpose and hope to find some more generous hearts for the remaining sum. The books have to be provided on first day of school which is usually in end of June. So my cutoff date will be 15th June 2025. We will be paying the money directly to the books supplier Harihar Book Depo in Anand Gujarat. The principal at the Girls School has agreed to keep us updated of the deliveries onwards.
