Books and Smiles: A Community Project

Hello!

Navigating 2025 is tough on us all, especially those of us who hold love for our diverse communities deeply rooted in our hearts. I believe in fighting against hate in constructive ways that includes fierce advocacy for those I love and admire through outreach, community support, and education. As a nurse, I care for all regardless. As a mother, I love unconditionally. And as a community member, I strive to ensure all voices can be heard.

This free little library is my passion project during these times to provide my community with uplifting materials that will help bring smiles to faces and validate people's existence. I plan to fill this library with books of all kinds, school supplies (this library will be facing a school), free art and zines, and other resources that others may need for their wellbeing or simply for their happiness.

I want this library to stand as a symbol of welcoming, inclusivity, and a desire to give back to my neighborhood. And it will directly face a school where I hope children can find it as a fun beacon of joy and something uplifting this year.

Please help me make this project possible! I am seeking out the cost of the library from The Free Little Library ($389), the post and holder ($89), and the shipping costs. Any extra donations will go towards purchasing art supplies, books, and fun things like stickers to go inside.
