It’s Palatine Parents for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s second fundraiser and this year we are doing it bigger AND better! This year our goal is to raise $2,550 to buy books for distributing at Kenneth Young LGBTQ+ Center’s Pride Fest and at Schaumburg’s Juneteenth Celebration!

It was awesome to be able to provide books featuring LGBTQ+ authors, illustrators, characters, and history to the attendees at Pride Fest last year. So many touching moments were shared as young people delighted in finding books that reflected themselves and got to take them FOR FREE thanks to many generous donations!

We look forward to adding a new event to our fundraising efforts this year and giving out books featuring Black authors, illustrators, characters, and history at the Juneteenth Celebration sponsored by The Schaumburg Juneteenth Celebration Committee.

All donations due by May 25th so that we can order our books from Semicolon, a Black woman owned bookstore in Chicago and have them arrive in time for the events.
