In memory of my cousin Jake, I am running a book drive to support the Pediatric Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) by providing amazing books for patients and their siblings. Books are an incredible tool for coping, escaping, imagining, and dreaming, and can provide comfort and hope at a time when it is most needed. My goal is to raise $2000. Thanks to Usborne Books & More's generous 50% matching program, I will be able to donate $3000 in brand new books to the kids at MSKCC! Jake was a gentle soul and always put the needs of others before his own. Even when he was sick himself, he would make cards and crafts with inspirational messages on them and hand them out to other kids receiving treatment. It is my honor to do this book drive in his memory so that patients and their siblings at MSKCC have a fresh supply of books and activities!
