Bonnie and Moose

Many of you will know our parents, Bonnie Edmonds and Moose Michaud. Maybe you were served by my mom over the years at Myrt's or Valois', worked on the road with Moose, partied with them in their younger years or maybe you cheered alongside Moose at a Mattawa Rockets game sometime in the last four seasons, where he has become lovingly known as "Papa Moose" by all of his grandson, Bryson's teammates.

Recent years have dealt them each their fair share of health struggles; each of them receiving a cancer diagnosis. But in true "Bonnie and Moose" fashion, they never left the others side encouraging each other to push through until they had completed their treatments.

Over the last 24 years, they both have shown us just how strong they are together; tackling all of the obstacles life threw at them as a team and always coming out stronger at the other end.

Last month, Moose received some hard news that his cancer had returned and this time it had spread.. and so the fight began again!

After undergoing two chemo treatments, some concerns of potential infection sent him to the ER. His medical team did some blood work and unfortunately have come back with devastating news. His doctors have given Moose 3 to 4 months.

To say the last few days have been devastating doesn't even scratch the surface or begin to describe how heartbreaking this news has been to our family.

These coming weeks will undoubtedly be their hardest obstacle. We are reaching out to our community with the hope of being able to alleviate some of the financial stress they are now faced with as my mom navigates through these next month's by his side.

Allowing them to focus their energy on each other and their family will leave us forever indebted to anyone who is able to contribute. If you are unable to support financially, we understand that money is tight for many. A prayer and a share is just as much appreciated.
