BOLD IS BEAUTIFUL TEAM IRELAND

Benefit Cosmetics 'Bold is Beautiful' charity turns 10 years strong this May and to raise funds I have decided to take on the "100k for the month of May" walking/ running challenge.

Launched in 2015, Bold is Beautiful is Benefit's global philanthropy program dedicated to empowering women & girls to be bold, believe in themselves & reach their full potential. Since its founding, Bold is Beautiful has globally raised $26.6M! The vision of Bold is Beautiful is to affect change in the world by creating a long-lasting positive change in the lives of women and girls in local communities worldwide. ​

The ultimate goal is to GIVE BACK to the communities that Benefit calls home, through donations, volunteering and raising awareness.​

The campaign allows Benefit to go beyond our beauty counters to partner with local charities that empower women and girls through education and mentorship, economic self-sufficient, and/or access to wellness.

We have chosen 2 amazing charities to partner with, Daisy house and Look good feel better.

Daisyhouse is a charity based in Dublin 8. They support homeless women coming out of substance misuse with an 18month supported programme which includes own door accommodation, access to specialised counselling, on site social care workers, education/employment supports, family reunification (on average 50% of the women they work with are mothers), 2 year aftercare programme and they ensure their clients have secured long term accomodation before they leave Daisyhouse.

Look Good Feel Better is a registered charity based in Ireland whom provides free skincare and make-up workshops for women receiving cancer treatment.​

Finding out you have cancer can be daunting and life-changing. The added stress of the appearance related side effects of treatment can be demoralizing and very hard to cope with. This can have a serious effect on self-esteem and confidence, at a time when a positive attitude is very important. Cancer can rob a woman of her energy and strength, but with the support of Look Good Feel Better it need not take away her self-confidence.​

Each year, Look Good Feel Better Ireland puts smiles on the faces of more than 1100 people receiving cancer treatment with their skincare and make up workshops, delivered by professional beauty therapists and make-up artists. Look Good Feel Better has no recurring funding and relies heavily on donations to deliver their programme benefiting people experiencing side effects of cancer treatment, as well as their families, friends and colleagues.
