Bogota Mission February 2023

My daughter Alazne and I will travel to Bogota, Colombia from Ireland in February 2023 to visit Hogares Luz y Vida having met the founder Sr Valeriana and Colleen Morey, founder of the Light & Life charity that supports Hogares Luz y Vida in 2022 while volunteering as an interpreter. Over a short few days we were overwhelmed by the tremendous life stories and wanted to do our part to help.

All donations received will be presented to Sr Valeriana on arrival at Hogares Luz y Vida.

Nestled in the foothills of Bogota, Colombia is a home and haven for children… those who have been orphaned or abandoned - by parents who simply could not provide… or understand.

The children in this orphanage, challenged with both birth and developmental anomalies, are part of a steadily growing family of over 235 precious children who do not consider their challenges as limitations. All of this is credit to Sister Valeriana Garcia Martin, a nun originally from Spain, who has devoted over 31 years to creating “home” for each of them where they receive and give affection, dignity, respect, honor, kindness, love… family.
